Finding God In DC A
Brand New DVD Small Group Study
Last year, Community Church
pastors explored the high points
of Upper Michigan while
reflecting on the seven major
components of spiritual growth
and packaged it as a small group
curriculum. This fall we kick
off a brand new home grown
curriculum where Community
Church pastors are teaching on
location in one of the most
famous cities in the world.
This summer the location of the
series has been a tightly held
secret. But, last month we broke
the news. Scott, Caz, and Brian
visited one of the most famous
cities in the world. A city that
draws over a million people a
day from every corner of the
globe. It is a city known for
its amazing monuments and
historic buildings. It is the
center of our nation's power and
sovereignty. You may have
guessed it—Washington D.C.
People
travel from every corner of the
globe to visit D.C.'s eight
square mile plot of land.
Everyone comes searching for
something. Some come to walk
where great leaders walked and
to capture the emotion of
America's rich heritage. Others
come looking for political
reform or change through the
legislative process or protest.
Still others come simply looking
for a relaxing vacation with
family. However, we came in
search of spiritual connection.
We traveled with one mission:
"to find God in D.C."
This brand new six week DVD
curriculum will focus in on the
attributes of God. We will
explore God's power, wisdom,
justice, goodness, sovereignty,
and sacrificial love and like
always, each session will offer
practical life application for
us as followers of Christ.
We are planning on everyone
joining us on this road trip and
believe God will do exciting
things in us as we get to know
him better.
Book and DVD sales will begin on
Sunday, September 21st. DVD's of
FINDING GOD IN DC will include
teaching sessions as well as
bonus outtakes, audio
commentaries, deleted scenes,
and more. A companion Travel
Guide will also be available
that will be packed full of
information about the pastors'
trip to DC, daily readings,
discussion questions, resources
for further study, and among
other things, lots of little
known facts about our nations'
capitol.
