Library Sculptures Donated in Honor of Barb Tousley

Two Isabel Bloom sculptures have been donated to the Church Library in honor of Barbara Tousley's 75th birthday. These sculptures depict a treasured passion of Barb's - children reading books. Her family wishes to recognize her more than 20 years of continuing volunteer service there. Barb remembers the original church library as "a small room with a few donated books". Since that time, she has been part of a team of dedicated people who have created a true working library containing books to benefit all ages.

Barb faithfully works in the library every week, and keeps a watchful eye on the "Book Return" box. Over the years she has introduced the library to teens, arranged Book Tables for Special Speaker events, and written to spotlight new books in the church bulletin. Her great joys are to see children reading or to direct an adult to a particular book that will bless them in a time of need. She sees the library as a place of ministry available year round, where parents can rest assured that all books are appropriate, where teachers can find resource materials, and all can grow in their walk with the Lord through reading. Thank you, Mom, for encouraging so many through your love of the written word.
