We,
the Co-Chairs for the 2009 OCC, Kathleen Plank and Doris
Lucas want to issue a challenge to all of you this
summer. We have challenged each other to fill two
shoe-boxes per month this year. We would like to
challenge you to fill one box each month.
In 2007 Mid Michigan churches filled
8,303 shoe boxes, in 2008 10,569 boxes were filled, that
is a 21.4% increase.
Want more exciting news? In 2008 the
Great Lakes Region generated 451,040 boxes. That was an
increase of 39,224 over 2007! That means in 2008, 39,224
children will experience the love of God because of your
efforts.
Want more exciting news? In 2008 the
United States generated 4,881,577 boxes!! That is an
increase of 352,332 over 2007!
Imagine
over 4 million children learning of God's love because
of your help.
Will you accept the challenge?
During deliveries last year we had a
12 year old girl bring us over 300 boxes that she had
filled. She spends her year raising money to fill these
boxes herself. Will you accept the challenge? If you
