The primary teaching method of Jesus was
story telling. In fact, about a
third of his words recorded in the
scriptures are parables. This
series
explored these famous stories which for
2,000 years have stretched the greatest
minds and fed the simplest ones.

PEAK Reflections: A Spiritual
Growth Blog
Check it out at
www.peakreflections.blogspot.com.
Spiritual growth
is something that happens best
in community. With this in mind,
Community Church has developed
an online resource to bring
people together to explore
faith. Hosted by Pastor Brian
LaMew, Peak Reflections will
feature blog posts from a number
of leaders of the church on a
variety of topics ranging from
theology and spiritual growth to
missions and serving. Pastor
Brian will regularly offer posts
reflecting on a number of topics
related to life, faith, and
scripture. Peak Reflections is
designed to be interactive to
allow you to post comments and
get in the conversation. There
will also be a growing number of
spiritual life resources that
will be a springboard for you as
a follower of Christ.

Officer Nominations
Each
year at this time, our church undergoes
the important task of choosing officers
for the new year. The nominations
committee invites your recommendations
for elders, deacons, trustees, and
nominations committee.
Our selection of officers is confirmed
in four ways:
1. The Nominations Committee selects
candidates after much prayer and
discussion. The Committee welcomes
written suggestions from the
congregation during their deliberations.
2. The candidates evaluate themselves
and their sense of call. But the
candidate's sense of call alone is not
enough.
3. The current ruling session must
examine candidates for the office of
Elder and Deacon.
4. The congregation must confirm the
selection by voting for the candidates
at a meeting of the congregation
scheduled for Sunday, December 21.
As you can see, this business of officer
selection is serious stuff.
